About Friends of Cville Downtown

Friends of Cville Downtown, Inc., is a 501(c)(3) non-profit created in 2021. Our mission is to make Charlottesville a better-than-ever, more inclusive place for everyone by working with city government and the community to craft strategies and programs that stimulate Downtown social and economic vitality.

Friends of Cville Downtown is a forum for fresh ideas and a catalyst for advancement of the common good. We will provide leadership on critical issues, and work to define and implement 1-, 3-, 5-, and 10-year innovation plans and strategies to expand smart and connected transit, safety, sanitation, housing, economic development and community inclusivity. When will all these plans take place?

Friends of Cville Downtown projects began to arrive in November of 2021 and are ongoing. Visit often to see what’s new!
