Does your child like to play chess? Are they interested in learning to play this timeless game? Exercise their mind muscles at Chess Mates! The Virginia Discovery Museum's multi-week chess classes focus on building an understanding of chess and having fun while developing creativity, executive function, and math skills. Chess Mates is offered once a season and is led by guest coach Barry Keith, a French and Spanish teacher at Monticello High School who is an avid chess player and tutor and the secretary of the Chess on Stamp Study Unit.
