Downtown Express
Take a ride on Friends of Cville’s Downtown Express! An electric trackless train for everyone to explore the heart of downtown Charlottesville; it offers a fun, different, and eco-friendly way for children and families to experience the Mall.
The Downtown Express will be operating on Friday, Aug. 29 from 5-7pm as part of Paint the Town Orange festivities. We're excited to see you there!
Saturday rides are back starting August 30. Running from 10am to 1pm, rides depart next to the fountain at Central Place. The rides are free and reservations are not required in advance!
We are looking for volunteers to help us run the Downtown Express! Volunteer roles include: driving the train, assisting families on and off the train, and collecting emails for our downtown newsletter. Please reach out to info@friendsofcville.org if you have any questions or concerns!
